The Q Revo is an excellent choice if you are looking for a robotic vacuum and mop that is priced in the middle. It provides a fantastic mopping experience, but doesn't have the advanced features of its more expensive counterpart.

In tests, it was able remove pet hair and dry oats out of medium-pile carpets. It doesn't employ LIDAR, however, like cheaper models do to identify your home.

The iRobot Home App guides you through the process of setting up. Once the system is in place, you can start cleaning automatically with just one button click. You can choose an overall clean that focuses on getting rid of larger pieces of debris such as cereal and rice or two thorough mappings of your home to ensure your entire home has a clean and tidy appearance.

This robot vacuum performs well on floors that are unfinished and low-pile carpet. It sucks up large items and does not lose suction as fast as some other models and can remove pet hair with ease. It has a difficult time with high-pile carpets or plush carpets however iRobot says that future models will be better.

The S9+ is a new design by iRobot that is focused on enhancing the edge and corner cleaning. It's the very first Roomba that adopts an open-fronted, flat-fronted design. The company hopes this will allow it hug furniture and walls. It's a great improvement over the hockey puck-like design of the majority of robovacs. However, we found it to be only marginally better than circular models.

iRobot claims that the S9+ also comes with superior filtration that blocks microscopic particles and allergens recirculating within your home. We think this is a nice claim however, it's not enough to justify a higher price.

Its intelligent navigation system makes use of sensors to remember the structure of your home, and vSLAM for mapping the interior of your home. It then cleans your entire home efficiently by avoiding obstacles like stairs and other barriers. The iRobot Home app lets you control the robot and schedule cleaning times, and establish virtual boundary markers, so it can recognize areas that require extra attention.

2. Roborock Q Revo

Roborock Q Revo is a machine that combines mopping and vacuuming. Its vacuum settings are as effective as those of higher-end models, and its mopping system is even better. Its spinning pads do a much more impressive job of scrubbing your floors than a stationary vibrating pad.

The only drawback is the absence of a second brush for more thorough cleaning. But that's not a major issue if you want to own one of the top robots available. The dust tank on the robovac is larger than its competitors and filling it up takes only two or three cycles even when you've got a lot of dirt.

In terms of the mopping system, I was impressed by its ability to scrub hard dirt off my floors. Its two lowest mopping settings which are less powerful than the high-powered ones, create little noise, so you can work or watch television without being distracted. If it comes into contact with a wall or furniture piece it gently bumps into it and moves along.

What makes the Q Revo apart is that it's designed to run nearly completely on its own, with no need for user intervention. The robo-vac comes with a multi-function dock that automatically moves physical garbage into the hidden bin, as well as washes and drys the mop pads and refills its clean water tank. The app is capable of nagging you only when something is in need of attention, like the water tank being empty or a scheduled vacuuming session being cancelled due to a full dust bin.

You can also create or merge actual rooms to customize the way that Q Revo handles your home. That's a handy feature to have if you have several rooms in your home that have different flooring materials or there's items that need to be cleaned out frequently, such as clothes, toys and books. The robo-vac is also efficient and was among the top performers in my tests, taking dirt from carpets and hardwoods in its first run. It can even remove wet spills but I would suggest drying them with a cloth before sending the robot in.

3. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni

The X2 Omni is a premium robot mop and vacuum combo that has all the features you could wish for. Like the iRobot Roomba S9+, it comes with a powerful vacuum that has a powerful suction to clean hard and carpet floors, and the mop's rotating design that can scrub tough stains. It also has an auto-cleaning base station that automatically cleans and empty the mop pads, ensuring that they remain them germ-free and ready for use again. It also comes with a brand new sensor system that is able to better detects obstacles, granting it the ability to avoid falling over furniture or other objects.

The biggest difference over the ECOVACS Deebot X1 is that this version is sleeker and more modern design thanks to Danish firm Jacob Jensen Design (best rated robot vacuum and mop known for its Bang & Olufsen products). While still quite massive--it's nearly two feet tall and deep and weighs in excess of four pounds--the entire robot and its base are smaller than the Roborock Q Revo or iRobot J7.
