Bentley Mulsanne Key Celebrates Its Centenary

Aesthetics

Design

When each selection is made, a pattern is created that reveals the model and color preferences of the customized bentley key holder.

The configuration that is created is saved to individual R.F.I.D.-enabled key cards which are presented to guests in a custom key case. Keys are also equipped with Bentley Muliner Personalised Welcome Lamps, which illuminate the door-opening path with the owner's name, or emblem as they approach the vehicle.

Bentley estimates that it requires 500 man-hours to build and assemble the Mulsanne. The unwillingness to embrace modern technology is the key to this time-consuming effort. The Crewe factory workers do not use a machine to space perfectly-matched cross stitched leather seats. Instead, they do it by hand. And rather than letting the car's built in sensors guide it into perpendicular and parallel parking spaces drivers must do it manually.
