UPVC Replacement Door Handles

The handles on your doors are worn out over time and will need to be replaced. It is crucial to be able to match the dimensions of the old handles when replacing them.

Inline Lever/Lever

Fab and Fix Windsor Inline Sprung Lever Door Handle

The door handles made of upvc chrome door handles/Composite are constructed of durable materials and are suitable for multi point lock doors that require a strong design. The handles are inline and run with the same spindle as well as screw fixings. They can be easily incorporated into existing or new uPVC/Composite doors.

The handle can be adjusted and angled to accommodate all users. The lever that is sprung can be shortened to fit more locks. This is especially useful for narrower door frames in which the cylinder is further back. A shorter lever can be used on doors that have a latch that can be activated with the thumb located on the inside.

Lever Pad

The lever pad upvc handle differs from the lever handles that are found on most doors. The window handle upvc can operate from a single spindle (inline) or independently from each side using two offset spindles or inline (pad). They are usually employed on UPVC double glazed doors. They are available in a variety of variations and finishes.

The handles are available in a variety of finishes including White, Chrome and Gold. The finish is compliant with BS EN 1670:2007 Grade 5 and is also resistant to corrosion, thereby giving the handle a high degree of durability and performance for the intended use.

All UPVC levers for handles for patio doors come with a spindle, screws and can be mounted on the uPVC door. The backplate fixation centers of 211mm permit a larger handle, which is typically beneficial when replacing an old or faulty multi-point door lock mechanism. These handle levers are also sprung, solving the problem of handles that slide out of their horizontal position when not in use.

It is crucial to match up the PZ dimensions for both the multipoint lock and the uPVC doors when choosing a replacement UPVC spindle and handle. This measurement is also called the "handle centre" or "cylinder centres which is a crucial aspect in ensuring that you have the right handles.

After you have identified the proper PZ size, you will need to make sure that the lever and push pads are designed to match the American with Disabilities Act compliant handles you require for your door. They are usually rectangular or round in design with an internal lever as well as an external push pad.

Most of the UPVC lever pads we sell are sprung, meaning that they return to their horizontal position when not being used, instead of hanging out and possibly sticking in the frame. This prevents drafts and cold air from entering a home. Also, the majority of the UPVC lever pad handles are hand-operated that allows you to put them on either side of the door.

Euro Cylinder

Cylinder locks can be found on uPVC and other kinds of doors. They work with a key to unlock a cylinder case that then reveals pins which can be aligned with those in the lock body, allow them to rotate the cam, thereby opening the door. Euro Cylinders are available with up to six pins. Internal and external doors require different levels of security.

The choice of the correct cylinder is essential; it is contingent on how your doors and handle are used. External doors, for instance are required to be fitted with cylinders that are more secure, whereas doors inside can be secured using a standard cylinder. In addition, some cylinders are available with extra features which can enhance security further, such as anti-drill or anti-bump features.

A euro cylinder needs to be measured correctly to ensure that it is the right size for your door. The cylinder should be measured from the hole in the center of the fixing screw to each end of the cylinder including the thumb turn if you have one. It is recommended to do this while the lock is in place, but when this isn't possible, you can take it off to measure. A cylinder that is protruding beyond the handle and escutcheon may be susceptible to attacks like snapping locks, therefore it is important that it's not too long.

The design of many modern cylinders includes anti-drilling and bump resistance features. They are designed to decrease the chances of an attack by forcing the cylinder rotate in the opposite direction. This will help to stop the attack and protect your doors.

There are cylinders that have been designed to resist snapping. This is an increasingly common kind of attack on cylinders which is where the break line of the lock is targeted by a tool that is specially designed to break the front of the cylinder to allow the door to be opened. This is a lot faster and easier to achieve than opening the door with multipoint locks and leaves no evidence of a burglary, which could hinder an insurance claim.

Spring Cassette

The spring cassette is positioned in the base of your door handle backplate providing a sprung solution to return the multipoint lock handles back to their original position after using. There was a time when these types of handle did not have a spring integrated into them, and without it they are more likely to slide or drop when the locking mechanism is removed. This simple feature is one of the best methods to correct this issue and is an effective way to keep your doors made of upvc from becoming stuck in an open or closed position, as they are not always easy to manually close by hand.

These spring cassettes were designed to be used with a sprung multipoint lock. They won't work with handles that aren't sprung, and you will have to cut a hole into your backplate for them to fit. (Please see the image for a detailed diagram). These cassettes are a solution for damaged or missing cassettes in the backplate of uPVC door handles. They are fitted with an elongated square that can accommodate an 8mm spindle, and they are supplied individually.
