WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades give you boosts in specific stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of an item by +3. Each upgrade also increases a random substat.

The upgraded gear typically has a more value in trade as long as it meets low requirements (like the FB shield of the sorc) or has a high stat variance (like eth titan weapons). Upgrades are less useful for those with higher variance because of the requirement to roll a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear by offering the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of armor or weapon. The item used to upgrade the item Level upgrade will be consumed and can't be used again. Upgrades can be used to create the enchantments.

You can upgrade items your gear at any time by visiting the upgrader in any major city. To ensure that your equipment is up-to-date it is recommended that you visit the upgrader each few weeks.

The cost of upgrades will vary based on the current level of the item being upgraded but they will always be less expensive than buying new gear from other sources. Upgrades such as upgrading a Benthic chest to 385 ilvl will cost you 20 recycle points. If you purchase a similar item, it will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are functional items that are used to improve the quality of weapons tools, armor, and other items. They can be bought by players through item upgrader NPCs in exchange for a variety of currencies, and can be found in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade is purchased, it can be applied to any weapon, tool, or armor with a button, which displays an image of the item when it is upgraded in the event that the player has enough materials.

Upgrade costs differ based on the slot for the item and the current item level. For instance weapons are more expensive than gloves, bracers, or bracers. This change is intended to allow players to get their equipment to the highest ilvl possible on all their characters, instead of relying only on seasonal loot.

Another significant modification is that crests have one usage, so it's important to use them properly.
